Typically, January is an expression of hope.
It’s taking all of your life-long or year-long judgements of yourself (things you think you should have done, didn’t do, or wish you did) and sandwiching them all in an aggressive and intensive 31-day cycle.
Then, when you don’t pull it off, February follows so you can get slightly depressed only to be soothed by the sugary chocolate of Valentine’s Day, and to have those around you remind you that you are worthy, loved and loveable despite your flaws…
Am I off?
Maybe…
Slightly dramatic?
Okay, maybe a tinch…
But probably not too far off from many people’s reality.
Here’s a thought on how to approach the new year.
Find grace.
Find what you love.
Express that.
Forget about 2023.
It is merely a figment of your imagination.
You have skills you excel at, amplify those.
You have dark areas of your psyche, acknowledge those.
Go do you, to the fullest. That’s what we care about anyway.
See you next week!
