Get caught up on your ‘to-do’ list.
Yes, it may sound silly.
But when your list starts to pile, our sympathetic, fight or flight system begins to elevate, the mind starts to feel the threat of overload.
Your mind races faster, your thoughts become more distracting, your focus becomes more scattered, and you become more agitated.
By knocking off ‘to do’ items, you release some of the fight/flight load each time you do.
You access more parasympathetic, rest, relax pathways,
You access a deeper breath, and you feel more relieved.
When you complete the list, and feel caught up, your breath will begin to RE-REGULATE to a balanced, coherent pattern, and you will feel more inner peace with the world around you.
That is worth getting your “to-do” list done.
Now, this isn’t what life is about necessarily.
This may not be taking into account other questions.
Like, why take so much on, what are you doing it for, are the things on the list actually high priority, or are you just distracting yourself by being busy…
Those questions are for another time.
This is more of a real anxiety-reducing, utility exercise that can justify finishing your list…
AND CELEBRATING when it’s done.
Then, do it all over again.
