Creating a new level of mental health.
It can be a lonely area between our two ears.
We are all attempting to process a large amount of data in a short period of time.
No longer are the days of having a ‘study room’ in the house, where you sip some tea, read great books, and delve into deeper inquiry and introspection.
No….we have replaced that with quick swiping of our fingers and scrolling through our feed to collect some sort of “important information” that we think will add value to our life.
Well, that clearly doesn’t work.
Besides that behaviour having us borderline insane, it creates this disconnect within us, a true lack of ease.
We are forced, with an overwhelmed and over consumed mind, to try to figure out mental health, wellbeing or an inspired state.
What can we do to combat this? Well here are 3 steps that can be of value
1) Just being aware that you are diving into your phone or computer. “Here I go again, about to dive in”.
2) Ask yourself, “what is my objective for doing this right now?”
3) What could I do right now with my time that could add even more value with my life? Would I being doing this if I knew I would never get this hour or 30 minutes back?
Again, there is no wrong to heading into the age of information, but coming with a heightened sense of awareness can help weed out the behaviour that will ultimately get you more toward mental health, wellbeing, or an inspired state.
All the best,
Dr. Steve
